Troubles in 2018
Mohammed Shami went through a lot of tough times in 2018. He lost his place in the Indian team owing to the fitness issues along with the personal problems. He was also sidelined from the majority of the matches by the Delhi franchise from the Indian Premier League (IPL). The pace bowler even failed the yo-yo fitness test after which he was dropped from the team.
But as time passed, everything became fine for the cricketer. He shrugged off all the things and performed admirably in the Tests against England and then in Australia. Shami made a perfect comeback in the ODIs as well this year to put his hand up at the right time for India as the third seamer.
He looks set to make it to the World Cup squad now but with the charge sheet being filed, it remains to be seen, if it affects his IPL appearances. Moreover, his mindset before the World Cup will be crucial and the BCCI might take care of him as well.
