Cheteshwar Pujara had an amazing season with the Indian team. He was at his extreme best and played some unbelievable knocks. Just behind his captain when it comes to runs scored this season, Pujara has been tremendous for the World’s number one Test team.

However, this technician of the game went unsold in the Indian Premier League auction. It is understandable that Pujara is a seasoned Test player and IPL is not the kind of tournament that suits the man from Saurashtra. Hence, the 29-year-old decided to master his skills by taking up a county assignment in England.

The number three batter from India is currently plying his trade with the Nottinghamshire. He scored a beautiful century against Gloucestershire yesterday. He scored 112 and was hailed by the supporters for his impeccable defensive skills.

A friend in Stuart Broad

Anyhow, the man from India is finding it easy at Trent Bridge. Special thanks to Stuart Broad. Pujara said that the English conditions can be harsh on you and Broad was helping him with it.  “I’ve learned a few things from Stuart Broad. He was telling me a few things that you need to do to be successful when you’re playing in English conditions,” said Pujara.

He also talked about Broad sharing his views about the cricket in England. That has also helped the talisman from India. “He said as a bowler, the lines he’s trying to bowl, (and talked about) the way he’s bowling especially in the last game in Cardiff where the wicket was tough (which will help me),” explained Pujara.

Pujara loving his life at Trent Bridge

Pujara was called upon as a replacement for James Pattinson. After a forgettable first game, Pujara struck a beautiful century. He is loving it in England and that is because of two players, Samit Patel and Stuard Broad. He also praised the English fast bowler for his commitment and passion for the game.

The 29-year-old revealed, “He was always there, running in and working hard to try and get a wicket for us and even though he didn’t get a wicket for us, the kind of attitude he had on the field was remarkable”.
