Cheteshwar Pujara's post on Mohammad Rizwan's birthday grabs attention

Pakistan’s wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan celebrated his 30th birthday on Wednesday (1 June 2022). Rizwan had a great 2021 as he was named men’s T20I player of the year for his splendid batting performances. In recent few years, Rizwan has become an integral part of the Pakistan Team by delivering some fantastic innings with the bat along with the skipper, Babar Azam. Earlier this year, he had a successful County stint with Sussex where he shared the dressing room with India batter Cheteshwar Pujara.

Both had a debut season with the County side and today, Pujara took his official Twitter account to wish the Pakistan wicketkeeper-batter on his birthday. Pujara posted a picture of him and Rizwan with a caption for Rizwan to have a fantastic year ahead.

He is a very nice and loving guy – Rizwan on Pujara

This post went viral as it gained over 30000 likes in no time. Recently, speaking to Cricwick, Rizwan heaped praises on Pujara’s level of focus and concentration. He said that he would love to learn something if he gets an opportunity. He added: “He is a very nice and loving guy. And his concentration and focus too. If you get a chance to learn something, you should do it. In terms of concentration levels and I told this to the coaches here too. In my whole career, the players with the most focus, and concentration are Younis Bhai, Fawad Alam, and his (Pujara’s).”

Rizwan had a decent County season by scoring 136 runs in five innings at an average of 27.20. Meanwhile, Pujara has enjoyed a fantastic season so far by scoring 720 runs in eight innings at an average of 120. Rizwan is now scheduled to play for Pakistan against West Indies at home in a three-match ODI series, starting on 8 Jun 2022. On the other hand, Pujara’s stellar performance for Sussex earned him a comeback call to Team India’s Test squad for the upcoming one-off Test against England.
