The Caribbean opener Chris Gayle is all set to play the upcoming season of Indian Premier League. The left-hander has been one of the most successful batsmen of the tournament over the years. He holds the record for the highest number sixes in the history of the extravaganza. Gayle will represent Kings XI Punjab this year, the tournament is starting from 19th September.
Due to novel coronavirus pandemic, the IPL 2020 has been shifted to UAE. It is well known that the pitches in the desert nation help the batsmen more often than not. As the conditions seem favourable the veteran cricketer is looking forward to scoring tons of runs for his franchise.
The southpaw is always known for the confidence and flamboyance that he carries. He opted out of Caribbean Premier League this year due to personal reasons but will feature in the IPL next month. King XI Punjab recently posted a tweet asking their fans about the number of innings that Chris Gayle would take to hit his first IPL century of this decade.
‘The Universe Boss’, himself answered the question. He asserted that he will require only one innings to score a ton.

Chris Gayle was in good touch when he featured in BPL earlier this year
The Jamaican cricketer has not featured for any event since January this year. He last turned up for Chattogram Challengers in the Bangladesh Premier League. Gayle was in amazing form in the tournament as he scored 144 runs in 4 games that he featured. His last innings of the tournament had 6 fours and 5 sixes as he scored 60 off just 24 balls.
Gayle has been one of the best T20 batsmen throughout the years across the Leagues. His dominance has continued in IPL as well. He joined the league in 2009 but his best came for Royal Challengers Bangalore when he scored 2000 runs for them in just 3 seasons.
The former West-Indies captain moved to King XI in 2017 where he has formed a formidable partnership with now captain KL Rahul. However, growing age and a break of more than 7 months will be a challenge for Gayle to face during the cash-rich league.
