Chris Gayle has been the show stopper of the Indian Premier League. He has entertained millions of fans all over the world with his power hitting abilities. On his day, bowlers wish that captains do not turn up to them to bowl to Chris Gayle. Such is the impact of the big man that he has single-handedly led his franchise to victory on numerous occasions.

The “Universe boss” was off-colour in the previous edition of the IPL which led the Royal Challengers Bangalore to release him from the squad. The Kings XI Punjab picked Gayle at the last moment but he was not expected to get a game so early in the tournament. The big man had a point to prove and hasn’t disappointed anyone so far. He is already topping the most sixes chart and has a century under his belt.

No problems with the short ball

Dean Jones, former Australian cricketer, and commentator are said to have a red book of secrets the content of which is not public. Jones had probably listed down the short ball as a weakness of Chris Gayle in his red book. The West Indian replied in the following manner: “What do you mean I can’t play the short ball? Are you kidding me!”

The red book of secrets has a twitter account in the name of “Deano jones” while is probably operated by the former cricketer. Gayle clearly did not agree with Jones’ remark and was quick to come up with one of his own.

The big man needs to be in top form for the remainder of the games as well for his team to make it to the playoffs. The Kings XI Punjab are currently on top of the table with eight points and Ravichandran Ashwin must be mighty pleased with their performance so far. They have a good bowling attack with youngster Mujeeb Ur Rahman exceeding expectations and a solid batting lineup with Gayle and Rahul firing at the top.
