Chris Gayle thankful for the successful surgery: Chris Gayle underwent a surgery on his back, after he had been suffering for a while with issues and injury for long now. Gayle played through the world cup in pain, also missed a group stage match against UAE in the tournament. He reportedly played the quarter final against England after dosing himself with a painkiller.
The Jamaica party king has put all the dazzle on hold and underwent a surgery, which was declared successful. The World Boss posted a picture thanking everyone for the success of the operation.
Promising to be back on the social media soon a drowsy Gayle after the surgery wrote, “Thank God for this first of all! Surgery went well… Thank you Dr. Kingsley Chin and the entire team who made this possible. Dr. Jason, Dr. Pencle and Ms Saily. Woke up to see my girlfriend Natasha and brother Lyndon & friend Nicholas. #ThankYou Thank you all for the prayers and best wishes. #LoveYouAll I’m so drowsy at the moment and sleepy. spk soon.”
Gayle will be off the field for 2-3 months as it will take him some time to recover after the surgery and rehabilitate back to fitness. West Indies will go on to play the tri-series against Zimbabwe and Pakistan without Gayle in the team; the series will take place in the month of August -September.
Gayle is certain to return on field by December this year, following his contract with Melbourne Renegades for the Big Bash League. Chris Gayle after all the pain is still the leading run-scorer at the 2015 Caribbean Premier League with 430 runs. He performed well in Indian Premier League and NatWest T20 Blast for the Somerset as well, despite the problems he has been facing.
