Confusion over the team name will be cleared in Sunday's conference, says Sylhet CEO

The newest franchise in the Bangladesh Premier League, the Sylhet Sixers, decided to change their previous name due to the guidelines mentioned by the BPL GC. After the name change, a lot of confusions arose among the people who often referred to it as the ‘Sylhet Super Sixers’.
However, Yasir Obaid, the CEO of the Sylhet franchise clarified that they initially named the team as the ‘Sylhet Surma Sixers’. But after abiding by the rules mentioned by the Bangladesh Premier League GC about naming a team, the franchise decided to shorten the name to just ‘Sylhet Sixers’. Yasir also admitted to the fact that there has been a lot of fuzz about the foreign players in the team which will be clarified when the team takes the field.
What Yasir said:
“There is a lot of confusion given we have not come out to the field officially. There are speculation on the name and who we have signed as our overseas players,” admitted Yasir.
He added that everything including the team’s name will be made crystal clear during the press conference on Sunday. The logo of the team will also be revealed during the conference along with the vision and mission of the bunch.
He further added, “We will be having a press conference on Sunday where we will launch our logo, the vision and mission and all other details of the team. I hope everything will be clarified after that event.” It has to be brought into notice that, the event will be held in Sylhet with the idea that the teams belong to the people of Sylhet.
The Bangladeshis are currently engaged in a Test series against Australia at home. The Tigers created history in the first Test of the two-match series when they defeated Australia at Dhaka. The win marked the country’s first Test victory against the Kangaroos riding on a brilliant all round show by Shakib Al Hasan.
