CPL 2020: Match 29, St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots vs Trinbago Knight Riders – TKR’s perfect ten, Worst defeat for Patriots and more stats

Trinbago Knight Riders remain unbeaten through the league phase of the CPL 2020 as they won all the ten matches with most of them by a comprehensive manner. In their last league match, the Knight Riders contained St Kitts and Nevis Patriots to 77/10 as Fawad Ahmed claimed a 4-wicket haul while Pravin Tambe and Sikandar Raza collectively bowled seven overs for 15 runs. The TKR team lost one wicket in the chase and needed just 11.3 overs to win the match.

3 – Trinbago Knight Riders became only the 3rd team to win all the matches of a Twenty20 competition before the knockout phase. (Min: 10 matches played) Karnataka team won all 11 matches they played in the group phases during the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2018-19 before the final while the Guyana Amazon Warriors won 10/10 games in the league phase of the 2019 Caribbean Premier League.

Worst defeat for Patriots:

9 – For the first time in the CPL, St Kitts and Nevis Patriots lost by a margin of as many as nine wickets. This is also the joint-biggest win in CPL for Trinbago who won by nine wickets on three instances before with all the three coming between 2014 and 2017.

51 – St Kitts and Nevis Patriots lost a CPL match with more than seven overs to spare for the first time. The Knight Riders chased down the target with 51 balls to spare on Sunday. Patriots’ previous biggest CPL defeat in terms or balls to spare was 32 against St Lucia Zouks earlier this season.

A low total by the Patriots:

77 – The total of 77 by St Kitts and Nevis Patriots is now the lowest in the CPL by any team against Trinbago Knight Riders. The previous lowest CPL total against TKR came in 2018 when the St Lucia team got bowled out for 95. Overall, this was the 2nd lowest CPL total for the Patriots behind the 75/10 against Jamaica Tallawahs in 2018.

1 – The innings of St Kitts and Nevis Patriots is the first completed innings without a boundary in the history of franchise T20 leagues. The Patriots did hit five sixes during their total of 77 but no fours.

4/21 – Fawad Ahmed recorded the best bowling figures in the CPL by a spin bowler for the Trinbago Knight Riders. The previous best was 4/28 by Shadab Khan in the 2017 season against Guyana Amazon Warriors. Fawad and Shadab are the only spinners to have taken a CPL 4-wicket haul for the TKR team.

9 – The nine runs conceded by Pravin Tambe are the fewest in a 4-over spell for the Trinbago team. These are the joint 2nd fewest runs given away by TKR in a CPL match. Sunil Narine conceded just nine runs during the 2017 season match also against SKN Patriots.
