The eighth edition of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) is set to get underway on August 18. A total of 33 matches will be played as six teams fight it out for the glory. This time, all the matches will be played in Trinidad and Tobago behind closed doors due to the pandemic. Only two venues, Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Tarouba and Queen’s Park Oval in Port of Spain, will host the tournament.

Barbados Tridents won the CPL for the second time last year having won it before in 2014. They defeated the Guyana Amazon Warriors in the final. The Warriors have ended up as runners-up on five occasions and they will be itching to go one step ahead finally this time around. However, for that to happen, the team will have to play its best cricket like it did in the previous edition.

In terms of matches, Brian Lara Cricket Academy will host 23 T20 matches including the knockouts while Queen’s Park Oval will play hosts to remaining 10 games.

Here’s all you need to know about the tournament

Brian Lara Cricket Academy – Match 1 to Match 10; Match 21 to Match 30; Knockout matches
