A confident Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) will take on defending champions Gujarat Titans (GT) in the 39th match of the ongoing IPL 2023. The home side head into the contest on the back of a resounding victory against Royal Challengers Bangalore, which snapped their four-match losing streak in the 16th edition of the tournament.
KKR's star English opener Jason Roy has been in tremendous touch at the top of the order for the two-time champions and the home side will be hoping for more of the same from the dashing batter in the game against GT. While Andre Russell saved the blushes of the KKR pacers in the previous match, they will face a stiff test against Hardik Pandya's in-form batting order.

Here's Kolkata Knight Riders predicted XI against Gujarat Titans:
Openers: Jason Roy, N Jagadeesan (wk)
Kolkata Knight Riders' opening worries are a thing of a past now as explosive opener Jason Roy has looked in ominous touch in his recent outings. The star English batter smashed 56 runs off just 29 deliveries, his second successive half-century of the tournament, in a fiery start for his side against RCB.
Unlike his opening partner, Narayan Jagadeesan struggled to get going in the powerplay and managed just 27 runs in his 29 deliveries. Although he played his part in a crucial opening stand for the Kolkata-based outfit, KKR will hope for more contributions from the wicketkeeper-batter in the upcoming fixture.
Middle Order: Venkatesh Iyer, Nitish Rana (c), Rinku Singh
With the team in a spot of bother after losing a couple of quick wickets, Venkatesh Iyer curbed his natural attacking instincts to compile a match-defining partnership with skipper Nitish Rana. He amassed 31 runs in 26 deliveries, while Rana took the attack to the RCB bowlers from the other end.
KKR skipper Nitish Rana led from the front for his side in the game against RCB. Although he lived a charmed life at the crease, the southpaw made the most of his chances, smashing 48 runs in just 21 deliveries in a scathing assault on the RCB bowlers.
Rinku Singh continued his exceptional hitting form as he added the finish gloss to KKR's batting innings. The hard-hitting batter smashed two boundaries and a maximum in his ten-ball stay at the crease to help his side reach the 200-run mark. He also grabbed a well-judged catch at the boundary to get rid of the dangerous Faf du Plessis in the second innings.
All-rounders: Andre Russell, David Wiese, Sunil Narine
Carribean all-rounder Andre Russell has not been able to live up to his lofty standards with the bat in IPL 2023, and he was dismissed for a solitary run to his name against RCB. However, it was his impressive performance with the ball that turned the match in his side's favour in the second innings.
David Wiese was taken to the cleaners in his first appearance in this season's edition against CSK. However, he made the most of the opportunity with the bat in the game against RCB, smashing 12 runs in just three deliveries to propel his side to more than a competitive total at the Chinnaswamy.
Bowlers - Umesh Yadav, Vaibhav Arora, Varun Chakravarthy
Veteran Indian pacer Umesh Yadav is another KKR bowler who is enduring a season to forget in this year's edition of the IPL. The right arm quick was taken for 19 runs in his first and only over of the match, laced with two maximus and one boundary, against RCB.
25-year-old Indian pacer Vaibhav Arora made his debut for KKR in the game against RCB. However, he wasn't able to make any significant contributions with the ball as he leaked 22 runs in his two overs. He will be hoping for a much-improved performance in the upcoming fixture against the reigning champions.
The Bangalore-based franchise will be hating the sight of KKR spinner Varun Chakravarthy as he turned into their tormentor-in-chief for a second time this season. The 31-year-old mystery spinner got rid of the dangerous Glenn Maxwell for a second time this season and also accounted for the wickets of Dinesh Karthik and Mahipal Lomror.
