The group stage of the IPL 2024 has come to an end. It was a roller coaster of a ride where the batters mostly dominated the bowlers with huge scores. Some of the games were one-sided and some were nail-biting. Teams had different kinds of campaigns in different stages of the tournament. While some teams performed well in the first few games, some others performed well in the last few games.

The performances of some teams depended purely on the decisions taken by the captain and the management. In some cases, players came together well and performed as a unit. Captains play a key role in the success of a team with their decision-making. They can also become responsible for the failure of a team. As the league stage has ended, it is time to look at how the captains of all teams fared.

Here are the captains' ratings after the league stage of IPL 2024:

10. Mumbai Indians - Hardik Pandya (3.5/10)

Hardik Pandya had the worst season as a captain. With the new ball, he asked the hit-the-deck hard bowlers to deliver the goods. Pandya did not make good use of the spinners. Mohammad Nabi was underused as a player. There were constant changes in the team and the batting order. His form itself was a matter of concern in the first half of the season. It was an off-season for Pandya as a captain. Given his success in the past, this was surprisingly a poor season for Hardik as a skipper.

9. Lucknow Super Giants - KL Rahul (4.5/10)

KL Rahul did not have a good campaign as a skipper. As a batter himself, he had a mediocre season where the batters were at their best. As a captain, he made some questionable decisions. The bowlers were not backed enough and a few batters were not dropped despite performing badly. There were constant changes in batting orders that did not help the team's cause. Some of the players did not even get a chance despite looking better than the ones in the playing XI.
