High-flying Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) are going to make the short visit to Bengaluru to face Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the 30th Match of the Indian Premier League 2024. The match is set to be contested at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium on 15th April, 2024.

A win's a must for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru as they are languishing at the bottom of the points table with just one win from their six games. They had a similar record during the iconic 2016 final run and would be hoping that the side replicates it once more during this season.

Their next game is against the Sunrisers Hyderabad who are sitting in fifth position with three wins and two losses. They have been playing aggressive cricket this season and would be looking to continue their good run of form in the garden city tomorrow. Ahead of this mega encounter, let’s take a look at how the Sunrisers Hyderabad would line-up against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru.

Here's the probable playing XI for SRH against RCB ahead of their IPL 2024 clash -

Openers: Travis Head, Abhishek Sharma

The attacking duo of Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma have made the opening spot their own. In the first three games of the season, Mayank Agarwal started for the franchise. However, his poor run of form resulted in the decision of dropping him. Abhishek Sharma’s stellar form prompted the team management to promote him to the opening role.

In the past two games that he has opened, Sharma was able to give the side momentum right from the first delivery. Along with the in-form Travis Head, it seems that the franchise has finally sorted out their opening position for the rest of the season. If the duo can survive the powerplay, it puts less pressure on the middle order as well.

Middle order - Rahul Tripathi, Heinrich Klaasen

Team India batter Rahul Tripathi was once the star of the batting lineup for the Sunrisers Hyderabad but now he has turned out to be a sort of liability for the franchise. His poor run of form last season saw him get dropped from the Indian team and that form has continued this time around as well. The right-handed batter has just managed to score 31 runs across two innings but he might be backed for a few more games.

The star of the Sunrisers Hyderabad batting has been Heinrich Klaasen and has continued his great international form in the IPL as well. He was one of the only performing batters for the franchise last year and has been great with the bat and behind the stumps as well. The wicketkeeper-batter’s aggressive approach against the bowlers helps out the side massively in the middle overs.

All-rounders - Aiden Markram, K Nitish Reddy, Shahbaz Ahmed

The former captain of the Sunrisers Hyderabad, Aiden Markram has not been able to score runs freely this season. He has had a difficult time with the bat and there are serious concerns of him getting dropped if this poor run continues. The South Africa captain has also not been contributing with the ball much this season.

Nitish Kumar Reddy has had a great start to the tournament and it has just been a few games into the season. His brilliant knock against the Punjab Kings in the previous encounter was a testament about his abilities with the bat. He also demonstrated his skill with the ball as he scalped a wicket and gave away 33 runs in his three overs.

Shahbaz Ahmed has proved to be a great trade for the Sunrisers Hyderabad. He chips away with wickets from time to time and is known to bowl with great accuracy. The bowling all-rounder can also contribute with the bat and has been promoted up the order on a few occasions as well this season.

Bowlers - Pat Cummins, Jaydev Unadkat, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, T Natarajan

There were serious concerns about how Pat Cummins would perform as a captain in the IPL. However, his side’s great form has surely silenced everyone and his great spells with the ball have made his franchise a great bowling unit as well. The skipper would be hoping for a great performance from his players against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru tomorrow.

Despite not starting the tournament off well, Bhuvneshwar Kumar seems like he has returned to his old form. Even though he has not been chipping away with wickets like he used to but has been great when required. Currently, he has just three wickets to his name, with two of them coming in the last game against Punjab Kings.

One of the bowlers who has been performing well for the franchise has been Jaydev Unadkat as he has been using his variations perfectly. He concedes a few extras while trying to bowl the wide yorker but when he gets it right, it becomes very difficult for the batters to manage that. The left-arm seamer might have to improve his death ball bowling after the poor last over against Punjab Kings in the last match.

Another left-arm bowler who has been having a great season with the ball is T Natarajan. It is hard to believe that the seamer has more wickets than Bhuvneshwar Kumar this season. He has been used perfectly by the franchise as he scalps wickets during the middle overs and concedes very less runs at the death as well.
