Ishant Sharma has been a proven performer for India in the longest format of the game. The Delhi-born has featured in 105 matches and bagged 311 wickets at an average of 32.40. The staggering tally is the joint second-most by an Indian seamer in the Test arena.

Ishant made his Test debut in May 2007 and was the mainstay of the Indian bowling line-up for over a decade. However, the year 2021 saw a dip in the ace pacer’s form and he could take just 14 scalps in eight matches for the side. Following his mediocre performances, the Delhi-born was dropped from the team.

Ishant was part of India’s Test set-up in the 2021-22 Test series against South Africa but has been sidelined from the team ever since. The 34-year-old is also not a regular feature in the Indian domestic circuit and thus, the chances of making a comeback are quite grim. Therefore, the veteran pacer might call time on his Test career this year.
