3. Bangladesh vs England, 2nd Test, Mirpur, 2016

In 2016, Mushfiqur Rahim and his boys were clashing with Alastair Cook-led England in a two-match Test series at home. After conceding the first Test by a narrow margin of 22 runs, Bangladesh were hurting and eyeing the crucial second Test at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur to script a comeback. With the toss falling in favour of the hosts in the second game, captain Mushfiqur elected to bat first.

While batting, the Bangladesh batters struggled against the English bowlers and could only manage 220. Tamim Iqbal by notching up 104 runs did a remarkable job for his team and gave them a reasonable chance in the game.

With a low total on the board, Bangladesh bowlers had to bowl out of their skin to keep their team in the contest. Leading the bowling attack, Mehidy Hasan Miraz took up the responsibility to annihilate England's batting order and did so by scalping six wickets. Mehidy alongside Taijul Islam and Shakib restricted the English innings to 244.

After their impressive bowling performance in the first innings, the Bangla Tigers were upbeat and looking to grab the opportunity to win the game by delivering something solid with the bat. With some fine batting displays from senior players like Tamim Iqbal, Imrul Kayes, Mahmudullah, and Shakib, Bangladesh scored 296 and set a total of 273 for the English batters to chase.

Miraz, after delivering an outstanding display with the ball in the first innings, looked emboldened and acted as the destroyer-in-chief in the second innings too by bagging six wickets again. His amazing spell helped the hosts bag the game by 108 runs and they levelled the series 1-1.
