Micheal Hussey was one of those players who made heads turn every time he stepped into the cricket field. He put up an exhibition of his flamboyant stroke play and changed the course of the game in favour of his side. The Perth-born featured in 185 ODIs and aggregated 5442 runs at an average of 48.15.

Hussey displayed his batting might in the lucrative T20 tournament as well. He played 59 IPL games and accumulated 1977 runs at a strike rate of 122.64. The former Australian cricketer was part of the Chennai Super Kings’ set-up that clinched the IPL title in the years 2010 and 2011.

Hussey smashed one century and 15 half-centuries in his IPL career. His lone ton came against Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings) in the second match of the inaugural season of the cash-rich league. In the encounter, the then 32-year-old Hussey plundered 116* runs off 54 deliveries to help CSK post a daunting total of 240 runs on the board. Punjab in response, could only manage 207 runs in 20 overs.
