<p>The recent match against West Indies in the third ODI of the three-match series was <a href="https://www.crictracker.com/cricket-teams/pakistan/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>Pakistan</strong></a>'s 990th 50-over game in international cricket. It was a forgettable one for the Men in Green, who ended up going down by 202 runs.</p>

Dilshan batted right through in an innings which comprised 10 fours. Umar Gul (3/45) picked up a three-wicket haul while bowling a couple of maidens.</p>
<p>It would come out quite surprising, but Gul - a tailender batter, also top-scored with 27 off 35 in an otherwise shoddy batting display from the Men in Green. The Shoaib Malik-led side was bundled out for just 75. Six wickets were shared between the new-ball duo of Nuwan Kulasekara (3/17 in seven overs) and Thilan Thushara (3/33 in seven overs). Even after 16 years, this stands as the biggest margin of defeat for the Pakistani side.</p>

<p>The second-biggest defeat margin for Pakistan came when they played arch-rivals India in the Asia Cup 2023. <a href="https://www.crictracker.com/cricket-players/virat-kohli/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>Virat Kohli</strong></a> (122* off 94) and KL Rahul (111* off 106) made full use of the solid start provided by Rohit Sharma (56 off 49) and Shubman Gill (58 off 52) to rack up a 356-run total. Shaheen Shah Afridi conceded 79 runs in his 10 overs despite 27 dot balls.</p>
<p>Naseem Shah and Haris Rauf could not bat due to picking up injuries during the first innings. Pakistan folded for 128 despite this. Kuldeep Yadav with a brilliant five-wicket haul, giving away just 25 runs in his eight overs, spun a web on the opposition unit, wrapping things up quickly. India also went on to win the Asia Cup that year, beating Sri Lanka in the finals.</p>

<p>The second match of the tri-series in 2002, saw Pakistan square off against the mighty Australian side, and the then two-time world champions batted first. In an innings which comprised 35 extras, 146 of Australia's 332 on the board was courtesy of&nbsp;<a href="https://www.crictracker.com/cricket-players/matthew-hayden/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>Matthew Hayden</strong></a>. Ricky Ponting also notched up a crucial half-century, as Pakistani bowlers had very little to show on a flat Nairobi track.</p>
<p>When it came to the chase, the start for the Waqar Younis-led side was horrendous to say the least. In just the seventh over of the second innings, the Men in Green were teetering at 13-4. A stunning bowling display by Jason Gillespie (5/22 in 10 overs) helped skittle Pakistan for 108 in 36 overs. Wicketkeeper-batter Rashid Latif was left unbeaten on 17 off 42. Justin Greaves (43* off 24) combined with Hope to add 110 runs for the seventh wicket off only 50 balls. Abrar Ahmed (2/34 in nine overs) was the pick of the bowlers.</p>
<p>Jayden Seales (6/18 in 7.2 overs) put in a fantastic exhibition of fast bowling to skittle out Pakistan for 92 in 29.2 overs.
