Mitchell Santner is taking advantage of India’s turning tracks and wreaking havoc on batters with his left-arm spin bowling. He is currently the leading wicket-taker for the Kiwis with 11 scalps in four outings at an economy of 4.40. Santner has terrorised batters with his fielding as well.

The 31-year-old has held on to four catches in four matches. In the second week, New Zealand thumped Bangladesh by eight wickets and Santner chipped in with the tailender Taskin Ahmed’s wicket as a bowler and Towhid Hridoy’s dismissal while fielding at the short cover.

The spin wizard showcased his mettle against Afghanistan again in Chennai. This time, he clinched a three-wicket haul in his 7.4-over spell. Fielding inside the circle, he also took an absolute blinder to send the Afghan skipper Hashmatullah Shahidi back to the dugout on Lockie Ferguson’s delivery.
