After an impressive 2-1 series win over the reigning T20 world champions Australia, India will now be shifting their focus towards the three-match home T20I series against South Africa starting Wednesday, September 28. A spirited Indian team would be hoping to make the most of their final preparations in the shortest format ahead of the T20 World Cup 2022 by keeping their unbeaten run in the home T20I series intact.

However, the Men in Blue still need to do a lot of work in their death bowling and they will be up against a South African unit that has been a formidable in the last 10 months. The ast time the Proteas visited India in June, the series finished at 2-2 after the fifth and final game was washed out.

As both teams renew their rivalry, here's a look at the three players who will not be a part of this series due to injury concerns:

1. Rassie van der Dussen

Rassie van der Dussen has been the backbone of the South African middle-order as well as one of their accomplished batters in white-ball cricket in the last 12 months. He has emerged as a proven match-winner who has the potential of performing under pressure.

Unfortunately for the Proteas, they would miss van der Dussen's services for the India series as well as the T20 World Cup down under as he suffered a fracture on his left index finger during the second Test in England.

In van der Dussen's absence, there will be an added responsibility on the middle-order as they during their last full-fledged series ahead of the World Cup.
