Rishabh Pant has been a game-changer with the bat for Delhi Capitals in the Indian Premier League. Slotting in at the middle order, the southpaw has put up an exhibition of his swashbuckling stroke play and dismantled top-drawer attacks for fun. Pant has featured in 98IPL  matches and has scored 2838 runs at a strike rate of 147.97. Also, he has been carrying out Delhi’s leadership duties since the 2021 season.

Pant met with a car accident on the Delhi-Dehradun highway on December 30 while driving to Roorkee. He is currently hospitalized and is under careful observation. It has been recently confirmed by Sourav Ganguly that the 25-year-old will miss the 16th edition of the cash-rich league. Let us look at the players Delhi can sign to fill the wicketkeeper-batter’s void for the forthcoming season.

5. Aryan Juyal

Aryan Juyal is one of the exciting prospects in Indian domestic circles. The 21-year-old has featured in 28 List-A matches and scored 1026 runs at an average of 41.04. Talking about the T20 format, he has scored 285 runs in 14 matches at a strike rate of 121.27.

Juyal was sensational in the 2022 season of the Vijay Hazare Trophy and put bowling attacks under the pump with his stroke play. The wicketkeeper-batter featured in eight matches for Uttar Pradesh and notched up 494 runs at an average of 70.57.

Though the youngster generally bats at the top order, he has the potential to play in the middle order. And given Juyal has been in a rich vein of form of late, Delhi Capitals could ponder over adding him to their arsenal.
