The IPL 2023 has almost reached the end, as the four teams for playoffs have been decided. The tournament has been lit up so far by outstanding individual and team performances in each match. 

This year’s IPL was a roller-coaster for the teams as many teams displayed top-notch performances and gave their 100% to keep their teams on top. As the IPL league stage concluded, let us look at some key players who were the most consistent for their teams and proved to be a vital part of the tournament.

Openers: Faf Du Plessis, Yashasvi Jaiswal

Faf du Plessis was sensational for RCB at the top as he scored consistently as an opener. His ability to score runs at a quick pace makes him a destructive batter. He scored 730 runs in 15 matches at an average of 56.15. On the other hand, Yashasvi Jaiswal was one of the most prominent batters for the Rajasthan Royals and scored runs consistently for his side. Overall, he scored 625 runs in 14 matches at an average of 48.08.

Both these solid batters make a destructive duo that every opponent would not want to face. The pair has good adaptability as well as the ability to change the gears and play according to the situation.


Middle Order: Hardik Pandya, Suryakumar Yadav, Shivam Dube

Hardik Pandya has been a good all-rounder for the Gujarat Titans. He contributed significantly in the league stage and was one of the impactful players for the team. He scored 297 runs in 14 matches at an average of 27 and also picked three wickets in the league stage.

Suryakumar Yadav proved again how destructive he is in the shortest format of the game. His potential to score runs all over the park makes him a special player, and he was once again a reliable player in the middle-order for Mumbai Indians, scoring 511 runs in 13 matches at an average of 42.58.

Shivam Dube has been critical in Chennai Super Kings' success this year at IPL. He has showcased exceptional skills through his classic shots, scoring runs in the middle overs and death under pressure situations. He scored 385 runs in 14 matches in the league stage.


Finishers: Rinku Singh, MS Dhoni

Rinku Singh has been one of the finds of IPL 2023 as the cricketer truly utilized the opportunity to display his explosive batting skills at the death overs, winning crucial matches for KKR. He scored 474 runs in 14 matches at an average of 59.25 in the league stage.

MS Dhoni has immense game sense and batting skills to score runs at a quick pace. He has scored 103 runs in 10 innings. This duo of finishers will be a nightmare for the opponent teams, as both are fearless batters who can destroy any bowling unit on their day. 


Bowlers: Rashid Khan, Yuzvendra Chahal, Mohammed Shami, Matheesha Pathirana

Rashid Khan has displayed terrific bowling skills throughout the entire tournament. He picked up 23 wickets in the league stage and also grabbed the first hat-trick of IPL 2023. Meanwhile, Yuzvendra Chahal grabbed 21 wickets in the 14 matches for Rajasthan Royals and was in top-notch form by picking wickets regularly.

Mohammed Shami showcased his ability to swing the new bowl and perform at the death overs by picking wickets consistently. He picked 23 wickets in 14 matches in the league stage. On the other hand, Matheesha Pathirana has been one of the prominent players for the CSK, and his ability to bowl yorkers at will makes him a special player. He has been critical in CSK’s death bowling specialist and picked 15 wickets in the league stage.
