The 17th edition of the coveted Indian Premier League (IPL 2024) reached its conclusion last night as Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) thrashed Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the final of the tournament to lift their third title. Over the course of two months, ten teams gave it their all in order to reach the playoffs and ultimately try and win the championship.
One of the most consistent teams for the past two years has been Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) but they couldn't make it to the playoffs for the third time in a row after some poor performances at the back end of the tournament. Let's take a look at the three players who were underutilised by LSG in IPL 2024.
Here are the top three players underutilised by LSG during IPL 2024:
3. Manimaran Siddharth
After an impressive start to the campaign where he was able to scalp the wicket of Virat Kohli, everyone thought that Manimaran Siddharth would be the upcoming star from the Lucknow Super Giants. However, he was dropped from the side and not much was spoken by the captain or the team management about the player's absence.
On pitches that assisted spinners and had some turn and bounce, part-time bowlers and veteran spinner Amit Mishra were used instead of him. Despite not playing many matches in the IPL 2024, he had a decent economy of 7.89 and he has the potential to play all the games from the next season onwards.
