During the contest between Gujarat Titans (GT) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) at the iconic Narendra Modi Stadium, Shashank Singh displayed brilliance with his bat and helped the visitors register an intriguing three-wicket win. Shashank scored an unbeaten 61 off 29 and became the Player of the Match for taking Punjab home.

When Shashank completed his fifty off just 25 deliveries during the game, there was no happiness in Punjab’s dugout. Witnessing the reaction of the PBKS players and coaching staff, former India opener and Hindi commentator Aakash Chopra expressed astonishment as the 32-year-old’s courageous batting kept the Kings alive in the match. The video of the incident spread on social media and several fans questioned PBKS' silence while a few claimed the scoreboard displayed that Shashank was on 49.
