In the 15th match of the 2024 Indian Premier League (IPL), Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) will be hosting Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. The match will be crucial for the hosts, as they are on the back foot after facing a crushing seven-wicket defeat in their second game, at the hands of the Shreyas Iyer-led Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).

LSG looked confident with their 21-run victory against Punjab Kings (PBKS) at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium, and they will look to be dominating against Bengaluru to gain two more points. Before the clash at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru, let’s recollect three unforgettable moments from RCB vs LSG contests from the past.

In the Eliminator between the Royal Challengers and LSG at the iconic Eden Gardens in the 2022 edition of the cash-rich league, the former got a 14-run win. Batting first after losing the toss, Bengaluru lost their captain Faf du Plessis early in the first over of the game and Rajat Patidar came out into the middle to support Virat Kohli.

However, Kohli struggled to accumulate runs at a swift pace, but Patidar looked aggressive. The batting maestro got dismissed on 25 after facing 24 balls and following him, Glenn Maxwell also returned to the pavilion after scoring only nine. Patidar held his nerves in the crunch situation and continued his onslaught against bowlers.

The right-handed batter brought his maiden century off just 49 deliveries. The Madhya Pradesh cricketer went back to the dugout after scoring an unbeaten 112 in 54. Riding on his knock, Bengaluru posted an enormous score of 207 runs on the board. In the end, RCB beat Lucknow by 14 runs and Patidar became the recipient of the Player of the Match award for his heroic batting display.
