Gautam Gambhir-led KKR prevented CSK from pulling off a hat-trick of wins in the IPL. The Kolkata-based franchise defeated CSK in a high-scoring final by five wickets, chasing down a 191-run target with two balls to spare.
In IPL 2012, there were only nine teams in action. Each team faced the other teams twice. 72 matches were held in the league phase.
