5. Manish Pandey
In 2009. Royal Challengers Bangalore acquired the services of a young budding cricketer hailing from Karnataka named Manish Pandey. The Nainital-born had shown glimpses of brilliance in the domestic circuit but was yet to crack the code on the big stage.
However, when the Bangalore franchise took the stage alongside Deccan Chargers in the 56th match of IPL 2009, Manish tormented the opposition bowlers with his glorious stroke-play and notched up 114* runs off 73 deliveries as he scripted history by becoming the first uncapped Indian batter to smash a century in the T20 carnival.
Manish has gone on to plunder truckloads of runs in the lucrative T20 tournament and emerged as a bankable name in the IPL arena. He has featured in 166 IPL games and amassed 3780 runs at a strike rate of 121.47. The Indian batter has also shown his class in the international arena and scored 709 runs in 39 T20Is.
