4. Soumya Sarkar

Earlier Soumya Sarkar was one of the reserve players in the Bangladesh squad but has recently been added to the 15-member touring party. It was partly due to his experience and the bad form of Sabbir Rahman. A proven performer in ODIs, Sarkar has managed to score 1168 runs at a paltry average of 17.89 in 68 T20Is.

In the tri-series in New Zealand, the left-hander could score just 27 runs in two innings at a strike rate of 128.57. It was his first appearance in the shortest format after T20 World Cup 2021, where he scored 27 runs in four innings.

Although Sarkar has been inconsistent with his contribution, he possesses the impressive ability to strike the ball from the word go and will be useful for Bangladesh in accelerating the run-rate. He will highly likely turn up at number three at the crease and will have ample time to get runs under his belt.
