The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) recently announced India’s squads for Tests and ODI series in the West Indies. During their tour to Caribbean islands, India will play two Tests, three ODIs, and five T20 Internationals (T20Is), respectively. The ODI and Test squads will be led by Rohit Sharma, while Hardik Pandya may be seen captaining the T20I team.

While picking up the T20I squad, some recent performers from the domestic circuit may be able to impress the selectors to consider them. Looking at the future, the BCCI will look forward to giving a plethora of opportunities to talents from the domestic arena who possess the capability to provide desired results to the national team. Interestingly enough, this will also mean that the players who are yet to feature in Team India in any format will have the selectors interested via the door of the coveted Indian Premier League (IPL).

Notably, these players have given top-notch performances for their respective franchises. Consequently, they have garnered immense attention from fans and cricket experts alike to break into the national side in the shortest format at least. Let's have a look at some uncapped talents who can break into Team India in T20Is soon.

Tushar Deshpande has played a lot of cricket in India’s domestic circuit. In April 2015, he made his debut for Mumbai against Odisha in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2014-15. Since then, Deshpande has had 59 T20 outings, in which he grabbed 83 wickets at an economy of 8.68.

His recent T20 numbers are outstanding as the pacer served his domestic side Mumbai exceptionally with the ball. In 2022, Mumbai won their maiden Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy title, and in this immense success, Deshpande played an essential role, clinching 17 wickets in 10 games at an economy of 6.72.

With these numbers, he also became the third-leading wicket-taker in the competition. This year, he exuded confidence with the ball for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the Indian Premier League 2023. Bagging 21 wickets in 16 matches at an economy of 9.92, he ended up as the joint-fourth-highest wicket-taker with Rajasthan Royals’ (RR), Yuzvendra Chahal.
