The ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2023 got underway on February 10 and the participating teams have given their all on the cricket field to give the fans some exhilarating action. The same is expected to be the case going ahead in the marquee tournament.

Each and every team is studded with proven performers of the international arena who have left the cricket fraternity in awe and the top-drawer players would look to make the T20 carnival in South Africa their own. However, there could be only one player who will be handed the Player of the Tournament award.

Here are 5 players who can win the Player of the Tournament award

5. Sophia Dunkley

Sophia Dunkley's stature in the international arena has grown by leaps and bounds in the last one year or so. The 24-year-old has played an aggressive brand of cricket and taken the attack to the opposition right from ball one, providing her team with some crackling starts.

Dunkley has featured in 18 T20Is in 2022 and smashed 425 runs at a strike rate of 120.73. She has displayed her batting might in the warm-up matches as well. In the game against South Africa, she hammered the opposition’s bowlers all across the park and smashed 59 runs off 19 deliveries.

Then in the second warm-up clash against New Zealand, Dunkley smashed 60 runs in 38 deliveries to help England get across the line. The opening batter is in a rich vein of form and could take the T20 World Cup 2023 by storm with her batting displays.
