The ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2023 was done and dusted on February 26. All the participating nations gave their all on the cricket field and courtesy of which, fans witnessed some breathtaking action. After over two weeks of tussle, Australia took the stage alongside South Africa in the summit clash of the T20 carnival and the Aussies emerged victorious, trumping Sune Luus & Co. by 19 runs to grab their sixth T20 world title.

Many top-drawer players entered the T20 extravaganza and left the cricket fraternity in awe of their performances. However, some among them were at their best throughout the competition. Let us assemble a playing XI consisting of players who were quite remarkable in the marquee tournament.

Beth Mooney has been a lynchpin of the Australian batting line-up across formats.  She has featured in 57 ODIs and aggregated 1941 runs at an excellent average of 52.45. In the shortest format, the 29-year-old has plundered 2350 runs in 83 T20Is at a strike rate of 124.60.

Mooney set the T20 World Cup 2023 on fire with her blistering performances. The swashbuckling batter knocked the wind out of bowling attacks that came her way and amassed 206 runs in six matches at a strike rate of 117.71, which includes three half-centuries.

Mooney came to her own in knockout games of the T20 extravaganza. In the semi-final clash against India, she smashed 54 runs off 37 deliveries to provide her side with a crackling start. Then in the final showdown against South Africa, the ace batter hammered 74* runs off 53 balls to take Australia to a competitive total of 156 runs. Beth was also awarded the Player of the Match for her majestic knock in the summit clash.
