"When you win a Test like this, everything has to fall in place. At some stage people are gonna and people are gonna come and we know that. These guys are maybe short of experience, they have played a lot of cricket and I can stand here and see that these guys responded pretty well under pressure. The credit goes to the entire team and it was pleasing to see. When you win a series like this, we talk about scoring runs and 100s but it is important to take 20 wickets to win a Test. The way bowlers took responsibility was pleasing to see. It was over a period of time that we had a conversation (with Kuldeep), he's got a lot of potential and when the chips were down in the 1st innings, he bowled really well and after his injury he came back and worked at NCA and he is putting a lot of effort and the most pleasing thing was his batting. He's (talking about Jaiswal) got a long way to go, amazing to be in this position. When a guy's got talent like that who can put pressure on the bowlers from the word go, there will be lots of challenges going forward. He is a tough guy and loves the challenges, clearly superb series for him and likes to score big," Rohit said.

"I really enjoyed the series, happy with the way I played throught the series. I was just thinking if I can take a bowler down, I will take him down and that's the plan and there's no backing out. Trying to take it one game at a time and always thinking of how I can contribute for my team so that I can keep the team in a winning position," Yashasvi said.

"Yes (When asked if this was the best he ever bowled in a series). It is the hardwork I did in the last couple of years and I am getting the reward. I really bowled well in Ranchi, the wicket was slow and the way I used the drift over there was fantastic. I liked the Stokes wicket in Ranchi and also like the Crawley wicket, that was a beautiful ball. I just focus on keeping it on a good length and that is very important for a spinner in a fomat and not thinking too much about what the batter is trying to do. I really liked my rhythm. Credit goes to batting coach, he helped me a lot. Not just the skill aspect, but also the mental aspect. Always backing me in the net sessions," Kuldeep said.

"We have been outplayed by the better team of the series. We got so much cricketing coming up, so looking forward to it. When you look at the series as a whole, in those small moments we haven't been able to keep it going. We all know as individuals as to where it all went wrong. When India get on top with the ball a lot men come around the bat and you got to find ways to keep those guys out of play and you need to be positive enough to take those risks and sometimes it could lead to downfall. Crawley and Duckett continuing their partnership at the top and Bashir and Hartley have been really exceptional the whole series and Root coming into form at the backend is really exciting ahead of our summer. Amazing to be on the field with Jimmy. 700 wickets for a seamer is quite phenomenal, from the day he first started being a cricketer to where he is now, the desire and commitment is still there and he if the fittest cricketer I have ever seen," Stokes said.

"Very happy, can't really put a wrapper on how I'm feeling. Lot happened, lot of talk about the 100th Test. Overwhelmed, a lot of well-wishers have come forward. Win the Test and take wickets, what more can a bowler ask for? Tried different actions, speeds, releases through the series. You need that skillset in India. Pleased with how the ball came out today, even though I went for a few. Cricket is a game played between your ears. Looks like a lot is happening because the new ball is biting off the surface. [Experimentation] Not insecure about what people feel about me. We have to get criticised. I take it on board, I lock away what I learn. If I'm confident of trying and executing something, I will try that. The amount of cricket we play, and the analysis, batters will line you up if you don't change. Sticking to one method won't work. [Bowling with Kuldeep] From the far end there was more bite, from the other end more speed. With the new ball I got some bounce and kick today. The way the ball is coming out of Kuldeep's hand is unbelievable, I can't be more happy for somebody."

India win the match, as Joe Root gets caught at long on. End of an amazing Test match here at Dharamsala. We can see the jersey no 99 leading the team off the field, as he took a brilliant fifer to rattle the English batters in the first session itself.

Skipper Rohit Sharma comes back to the field to applaud the boys for their fantastic effort. Players are shaking their hands and congratulating the winning team for the victory. At the end, it is India who won the game by an innings and 64 runs.

And with that win, it's the end of India's domestic season, as the focus now shifts to the all-important Indian Premier League, starting in a two weeks' time.

Ravindra Jadeja joins the party to give England another hiccup. Shoaib Bashir departs after a brief stay at the crease. The ball was pitched just a bit above good length, and Bashir missed the line of that one completely. India are just a wicket away from a historic win at Dharamsala.

Joe Root reaches his fifty. He has been the only guiding light for England today. Excellent innings under great pressure.

Jasprit Bumrah strikes twice in the same over. This time, its Mark Wood who couldn't get any wood on the ball, as the umpire raises finger yet again. The batter does review it this time, but in absolute vain, as the ball tracking suggests the on-field call to be retained. So Bumrah has two wickets in the match, and the only Indian pacer to get wickets Dharamsala. Well, well, well!!!

Tom Hartley departs, as Jasprit Bumrah undoes him with a straight delivery, catching the batter's pads. The umpire had no hesitation whatsoever in raising his fingers, and Hartley didn't even think of referring that one upstairs. England in all sorts of trouble now, as the end seems near. But Joe Root is still there👀

There was a confident appeal for lbw from Kuldeep and other close-in fielders. After a prolonged discussion, stand-in skipper Bumrah went upstairs, but Joe Root was pretty much sure he had got some bat on it. The TV replay also suggested the same, and India lose a review!

Ravichandran Ashwin picks his fifth in the day. The stumper-batter Ben Foakes has been sent back cheaply, much like every English batter so far. The legendary Ashwin continues to do wonders with the ball.

The English batters have had a forgettable outing on Day 3 so far. The ball has been completely in India's favour, especially with Ashwin striking early, converting it into a quartet of wickets. Jonny Bairstow outing in the second innings pretty much sums up his tour — getting starts, not able to convert, and that's how his 100th Test fared out. But there's still a lot to be played for, especially with Root still at the crease.

Just a reminder that Indian skipper Rohit Sharma did not take the field due to a stiff back, which means if India come out to bat today, the rules won't allow Rohit to open alongside Jaiswal.

Nonetheless, the fielders have taken their positions, while batters have also taken their respective positions. Ben Foakes has joined Joe Root, while the trail is currently at 156 for the visitors.

Ben Stokes' terrible performance with the bat continues. The England skipper departed for just two runs. Ashwin found the gap between the bat and the pad as the ball went on to dislodge the stumps. England are 103/5 and are trailing by 156 runs. Lunch has been called.

Kuldeep Yadav picked up his sixth wicket in the match as Jonny Bairstow walks back after scoring 39 runs. England are 92/4. They now need prayers.

At Stumps on Day 2, the duo of Kuldeep and Bumrah managed to keep India in the contest and extend that lead as much as possible. Moreover, their partnership (45*) is also providing a major boost to India's tally in the first innings, as they aim to put up a gigantic lead for Ben Stokes & Co.

Ravichandran Ashwin gets cleaned up by Tom Hartley. Ashwin b Tom Hartley 0(5). India - 428/8 leading by 210 runs.

Tom Hartley strikes! Traps Ravindra Jadeja in front of the stumps with a share turner. The India all rounder opts for a review but to no avail as three reds confirm his downfall. Jadeja lbw b Tom Hartley 15(50). India 427/7.

Devdutt Padikkal departs after a well-made fifty on debut. Shoaib Bashir strikes with yet another wicket, as he is the only spinner who has looked gripping today. Nonetheless, the debutant departs for 65 as India have lost half their side. Dhruv Jurel joins Ravindra Jadeja.

The lead continues to agonize England, as 400 runs are up on the board for Indians.

The southpaw, Devdutt Padikkal, has just notched up his first-ever international fifty in maiden Test outing for the Indian team. A six straight down the ground off Shoaib Bashir got him to the memorable landmark, as another Indian debutant continues to rise and shine. Take a bow!

Well-set Sarfaraz falls in the trap of Bashir's spin. Fourth wicket is down.

The umpires have signalled Tea, which means the players will be back shortly after a 20-min break.

Sarfaraz Khan scores yet another half-century in this series. It has surely been a dream debut for the man, and his younger brother Musheer is in the crowd to cheer the elder one. He started slow, but came back swiftly into the act, and reached his landmark quickly. Padikkal, on the other end, is partnering him ably.

Much after bowling himself in, Ben Stokes introduces spinner Joe Root in the match. He will be bowling for the first time in this game. Let's see how he fares.!

Things are getting a bit tricky in the middle, as Sarfaraz hit Mark Wood for a couple of boundaries in the 76th over. Wood, on the fifth ball of the over, tried to kick the ball onto the stumps, thinking that the batter was outside his crease. The pacer eventually missed hitting the stumps, but indicated the amount of desperation for the pacer to get a wicket, as he had gone for plenty of runs in this innings, and is yet to breakthrough.

Fifty of the partnership comes up between Padikkal and Sarfaraz. After the departure of senior duo, these two have managed to score runs quickly, with the southpaw contributing majorly. However, Sarfaraz, too, is getting into the act now. Should be an interesting hour of play before players take Tea.

India are 100 runs ahead of England, as Mark Wood bowls the 74th over. The partnership between Sarfaraz and Padikkal is 39 at the moment.

The 300 is on board for the hosts, as they have lost three wickets in the process. Having taken a handful lead already, the plan for Indians will be to score runs quickly and pile on the lead further.

Similar to the 2021 dismissal, 110-run old Shubman Gill has been undone by everyouth James Anderson. Through the gap between bat and the body, gets the top of the off stump. That delivery had the class of Jimmy Anderson written all over it, and both the set batters have now been dismissed.

Devdutt Padikkal, one of the many debutants we've seen in this series, has joined Shubman Gill for the third wicket. He will be looking forward to making it a memorable one.

Yeah, you heard that right. Ben Stokes, bowling for the first time in this series, has got the number of his Indian counterpart. Rohit Sharma has been cleaned up off a superb delivery from the pacer. End of a magnificent innings from the Indian skipper, and England have their first breakthrough of the day.

India's Rohit and Shubman are back to the field after reaching their hundreds in the first session. Since India now have a lead, they will look to play more attacking way just to extend the lead, given they've got nine wickets to spare.

England, on the other hand, will be desperate for a breakthrough and try and put a pause on this long-standing partnership between the two.

India are well and truly in control of the fifth Test. The hosts are 264/1 and are leading by 46 runs. 129 runs have been scored in the session as both Gill and Rohit managed to hit a century each. 

Gill follows Rohit. He danced down the track to pick up a boundary and celebrates by his trademark bow down celebration. Century in 137 deliveries.

Rohit and Gill helped India reach 250 in Dharamsala and both are also on the verge of completing their centuries.

India are 241/1, leading by 22 runs.

India are in the driver's seat as they take the lead in Dharamshala. Gill dances down the track to hit a six off Bashir to cross England's tally. Like said previously, there's no stopping team India at the moment.

There's no stopping Team India. Rohit and Gill have been phenomenal in the middle as India are on the verge of taking the lead. 206/1 after 46 overs.

Gill pulled to pick up a single and complete his half-century in Dharamshala. His fourth fifty in the ongoing series and that shows his consistency. India are 185/1

Back-to-back boundaries for Shubman Gill as the youngster is marching towards another half-century. What a player!

Gill danced down the track and smacked it over Jimmy Anderson's head to pick up a brilliant six. Harsha Bhogle was in awe in the commentary box.

Skipper Rohit Sharma gave the perfect start to the hosts. He is taking on Shoaib Bashir early on Day 2 as the 36-year-old hits a six and followed it up with a four.

Happy International Women's Day and welcome back on Day 2 of the fifth Test between India and England. The hosts are currently trailing by 83 runs as Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill have built a strong partnership in the middle. Shubman Gill smacks yet another maximum in the Indian innings. Tom Hartley has been sent packing for yet another big hit.

Indian skipper Rohit Sharma was batting at the crease, when a delivery by James Anderson went to the hands of wicketkeeper Ben Foakes. A confident appeal from the English huddle enforced the umpire to raise his finger.

Amused in disbelief, Rohit laughed hard and said "B***ch*d, C***ya hai kya?" and immediately went for the review. The review suggested that the ball had only hit Rohit's thigh pad, which enforced the umpire to reverse his decision.

Shoaib Bashir strikes and Jaiswal has to make the long walk back. Keeper Ben Foakes makes no mistake behind the stumps, as the southpaw advances for yet another big hit in the over. Nonetheless, first strike for the Englishmen.

The hitman sends Hartley packing for a maximum off a pull shot. 

Rohit Sharma attempted a sweep shot off Tom Hartley. The ball went straight to the keeper Ben Foakes and there was a strong appeal for caught behind. With much conviction from all the fielders, Ben Stokes went up. But the decision backfired, as the TV replay suggested no edge. Rohit will continue, as the English team loses a review.

Shoaib Bashir, the right-arm spinner, has been dispatched for two colossal hits off Jaiswal for two maximums. That will put pressure on England, and will give a lot of confidence to the Mumbai batter.

The ball ricocheted off Rohit's thigh-pads but the umpire thought it had a piece of wood on that one, and raised his finger. However, the batter went for the review straight away that resulted in his favour. He will continue to bat, as Anderson has been denied the breakthrough.

Rohit Sharma hits his first six off a pull shot on a short delivery bowled by Mark Wood. There was elegance of Rohit written all over that shot.

Yashasvi Jaiswal took a run on the third ball of the innings, and with that single, he has become the batter with most runs in a Test match series against England. The southpaw broke the record of his senior teammate Virat Kohli, who held the record with 655 runs against the Three Lions.

To break the record for most runs in a Test series against any opposition, Jaiswal needs to break the record of 774 runs in the series by former India legend Sunil Gavaskar, which stays unassailed for over five decades now.

Interestingly, Gavaskar also created the record of being the first-ever batter to breach the 10,000-run mark in Test cricket on this very day. Today's date is for records, we guess.!

After a short break, the Indian openers are out to face the likes of England's attack. Yashasvi Jaiswal will take the strike, as his partner and skipper Rohit Sharma has joined him to begin the proceedings.

Right after the end of the innings, Kuldeep Yadav - the man who got five-for, took the ball from the umpire and as a gesture of respect to his senior contemporary, handed the ball to Ravichandran Ashwin, who also took four wickets in his monumental Test outing. However, recognizing the quality bowling done by the UP-born, the 37-year-old handed the ball back to Yadav. However, the wrist spinner again handed the ball to Ashwin and asked him to carry the team off the field, creating a beautiful moment of camaraderie between the two.

The moment has gone viral on the internet, taking netizens into frenzy in no time.

Ravichandran Ashwin takes four wickets in his 100th Test, as James Anderson departs. The wicket also draws curtains to England's first innings. It started with Crawley and Duckett scoring runs for fun, but once the spinners came in, it was all for India and none for the tourists.

Surprisingly, on a pace-friendly pitch, all the wickets have been taken by spinners - five by Kuldeep, one by Jadeja, and four for Ashwin.

There was an under-confident appeal for lbw by Ashwin for the very first delivery that Anderson played. DRS suggests an edge, and hence, there's a review wasted by India.

The final session on the Day 1 begins, as England resume their innings and bring up 200 in the first over of the pre-Stumps session. How more can they add?

England's struggle with the bat continues as they find themselves on 194/8 at Tea on Day 1. All eyes on Ben Foakes and Shoaib Bashir at the moment.

Team India is on fire. Ravichandran Ashwin got the better of Mark Wood, who walked back without opening his tally. Rohit Sharma picked up a good catch in the first slip as India are 183/8

Ravichandran Ashwin picked up his first wicket in his 100th Test as Tom Hartley departed for six. Debutant Devdutt Padikkal picked up a stunner of a catch in the long-on region as England are 183/7.

Kuldeep picked up his fifth wicket in Dharamshala as England skipper Ben Stokes departed without opening his tally. The Indian team is elated as the visitors are in trouble, 175/6

Joe Root is deceived by a slider from Ravindra Jadeja. The ball kept low on middle-stump line and went past the inside edge of Root's blade.  The ball struck him in front of the stumps. The umpire raises his finger. The former England captain went for the review but to no avail.

Jonny Bairstow was looking to play positively but his innings has been cut short by Kuldeep. The batter tried to drive a ball but only managed to get a nick through to Dhruv Jurel. He wasn't sure if he had nicked it and went for the DRS. Ultra-Edge showed a spike to bring an end to Bairstow's brief but entertaining knock. Kuldeep gets his 50th Test wicket.

Jonny Bairstow goes down on one knee and brings out the sweep shot and nails it against Kuldeep. The ball goes over the fence at deep mid-wicket as the veteran brings up 6,000 runs in Tests.

Kuldeep Yadav had a chance to catch Jonny Bairstow off his own bowling. The batter hit a delivery straight back at Kuldeep with force. The spinner fails to close his hands in time as Bairstow survives.

Kuldeep Yadav gets the better of Zak Crawley with a peach of the delivery. Crawley was absolutely bamboozled and left clueless in the middle as the ball passed from the middle of his bat and pad. One of the balls of the series! England are 137/3 as Crawley departed after scoring 79 runs.

Right after the play resumed for the second session, Kuldeep bowled a turning ball, which hit Crawley's pads before Sarfaraz Khan grabbed a sharp take at short leg. Interestingly, there was an appeal for a caught dismissal by the fielder, and no one in the team huddle looked excited for the take. Sarfaraz even tried to convince Rohit Sharma a lot to send the decision upstairs. However, with little or no support from other close-in fielders, the skipper chose not to waste another review.

A few balls later, the TV replay showed that the ball did nick Crawley's bat before eventually deviating off the pads into Sarfaraz's hands. The youngster was seen smiling at his decision, and Rohit realized the mistake of not taking the DRS upon the junior Mumbaiker's advice.

Just as England reach their 100, Kuldeep Yadav gets the better of Ollie Pope to bring yet another wicket for the hosts. Easy stumping for Dhruv Jurel behind the wickets, as the batter had no chance at all to get back in time. Nonetheless, India will take that.

And with the fall of Pope's wicket, the umpire's have called for Lunch.

The first ball of the 26th over brings 100 runs on board for the visiting side. Just one hiccup and India will be desperate for another.

A gigantic strike by Zak Crawley and the ball by Ashwin sails away for a huge six. Someone in the crowd got the hold of that, and the man is happy to throw it back on the field. Crawley seems to be completely in the act now.

India reviewed for an lbw appeal that was turned down, but the ball tracking suggests its missing the wickets by some distance. Rohit Sharma's men lose a review early in the game.

Ben Duckett gets trapped in the spinning web of Kuldeep. But majority of the credit goes to Shubman Gill who took a sensational catch in the middle. Running back and getting hold of the ball is never easy, but the Punjab lab has done really well to grab that one. Absolutely stunning from Shubman. The change of bowling from the Indian skipper has gone in the team's favour, as Kuldeep's merry run in the series continues.

The English opening pair has begun well, and just like that, fifty runs are up on the board in the 16th over. They would surely want to add a lot more to this.

Zak Crawley saved by the umpire's call in Dharamshala. Mohammed Siraj's delivery hit the pads of the England opener but Joel Wilson gave it a not-out. Rohit upon consulting with Dhruv Jurel went for the review but was unlucky in this case.

England are not really Bazballing at the moment. 10 overs gone, the visitors are 35/0

Well, the surface is barely supporting the pacers in Dharamshala. The wind however is favouring the pacers, which is a positive sign. England are not in a comfortable position. Seven overs gone, the visitors are 20/0
