POTM RAVINDRA JADEJA SAID:
"Always enjoy my bowling here. Was just looking to bowl in good areas. I've practiced a lot here - if you bowl in good areas, it helps you. Takes time for visiting team to settle down and plan something. Difficult for them to come here and identify the surface," Jadeja said.
WINNING SKIPPER RUTURAJ GAIKWAD SAID:
"Little nostalgic for me. During my first IPL fifty, similar situation, Mahi bhai was with me and we finished the match. Wicket was slightly tricky, didn't want to put the side under pressure. Was a 150-160 wicket. With this team I don't need to tell anything to anyone. In T20 sometimes you need little bit of luck to get going," Gaikwad said.
Losing skipper Shreyas Iyer said:
"It's deafening out here, but I'll try to express. We got a phenomenal start in the powerplay, but we lost consecutive wickets. We weren't able to assess the conditions quickly after the powerplay, scoring runs wasn't easy. They (CSK) know the conditions pretty well, they bowled according to their plans. Wasn't easy (for the new batters) to go after them from the first ball. We were trying to construct the innings, but it didn't fall in place according to the plan. The wicket changed after the powerplay. We were in a comfortable place and we thought 160-170 was a good score, but we lost momentum. We have to go back to the drawing board and got to learn from that. I am glad this happened at the start of the tournament. When we go back, we know our home conditions pretty well. We need to analyse the situations and need to make the best use of it," Iyer said.

The spotlight now shifts to Chennai Super Kings (CSK) as they gear up to host Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in Match 22 of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 season on April 8, at the iconic MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
CSK, boasting a roster packed with young talents, kicked off their campaign in style with two consecutive victories. However, the defending champions' fortunes took a downturn as they faltered while executing their strategic plans in the subsequent matches, thereby suffering back-to-back defeats.
In their recent encounter, CSK faced a tough challenge from Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), who had previously set a record against Mumbai Indians by amassing the highest-ever IPL total of 277 runs. After being put to bat first, CSK suffered a top-order collapse, but Shivam Dube's blistering 45 runs off just 24 balls, helped them to post a reasonable total of 165 runs. CSK bowlers then struggled as SRH successfully chased down the target in the penultimate over, thanks to a scintillating fifty by Aiden Markram.
KKR are one of the two teams who have won all the games they have played so far in the tournament. They currently trail behind table-toppers Rajasthan Royals, boasting a massive Net Run Rate (NRR) of +2.518. In their most recent game against Delhi Capitals (DC), KKR showcased their batting prowess, posting a mammoth 272 runs, thanks to half-centuries from Sunil Narine (85 off 39) and Angkrish Raghuvanshi (54 off 27).
The bowlers also shone, with Vaibhav Arora and Varun Chakravarthy claiming three-wicket hauls, while IPL's most expensive acquisition, Mitchell Starc, bagged two crucial wickets. Their joint effort helped KKR bundle out DC to 166 runs in 17.2 overs, securing a convincing 106-run victory.
The pitch at Chepauk is anticipated to provide balanced opportunities to both batters and bowlers, promising an enthralling encounter when CSK and KKR lock horns against each other. They both have clashed 29 times in IPL, with CSK emerging victorious in 18 of those encounters, while KKR has claimed victory on 10 occasions. Notably, the Chennai-based franchise has dominated in recent encounters, winning three out of the last five matches against KKR.
