England Women and New Zealand Women are set to travel to the country of Wales when they face each other in the third and final One Day International at the iconic Sophia Gardens on Saturday, May 16. The hosts go into the game knowing they cannot lose the series after the second ODI was abandoned due to excess rain in Northampton.

Charlie Dean's side secured a victory in the first ODI in Chester-le-Street by one wicket following a tense run chase. The skipper herself stayed unbeaten at the end to help her side take the win and a handy lead in the three-match series.

New Zealand, on the other hand, will want to win to end the series level with England. The White Ferns do not have the best record against their rivals in ODI cricket, losing five of their last six matches.

Sophia Gardens, Cardiff: Pitch Report

Wales is renowned around the world for its overcast weather, something that can affect the game on Saturday. The conditions could provide some early swing to the fast bowlers. The pitch, however, does favour the batting side once they negate the initial swing.

Before this game, there had been just one previous Women's ODI played at the Sophia Gardens, which took place all the way back in 2003. England Men's, however, faced the West Indies on this venue last year and chased down 309 in the second innings.
