After putting up a fight in a high-scoring affair against Chennai Super Kings at the latter's home ground, KL Rahul's Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), who had earlier defeated Delhi Capitals by a whopping 50 runs, would be keen to get back to winning ways.
South African gloveman Quinton de Kock will repatriate with Lucknow after the completion of South Africa's ODI series against the Netherlands. Similarly, for Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), skipper Aiden Markram, wicketkeeper Heinrich Klaasen and fast bowler Marco Jansen are back in the fold.

Caribbean batter Kyle Mayers, who was promoted up the order in De Kock's absence to open the innings with Rahul, has been in destructive form and has notched up two half-centuries in the two matches played so far. Similarly, Mayers' compatriot Nicholas Pooran has also been in clinical form and has displayed glimpses of his abilities in both the matches that the team has played so far in the tournament.
At the bowling front, England fast bowler Mark Wood had a good spell in the first match against Delhi Capitals, picking up a fifer, but was hammered for runs in the second match against CSK, although he still managed to claim three scalps.
Sunrisers, on the other hand, had a dismal outing in the first match against Rajasthan Royals, adding to the already poor captaincy record of Bhuvneshwar Kumar.
Bowling first, Sunrisers were hit left, right and centre as Rajasthan openers Jos Buttler and Yashasvi Jaiswal notched up the highest-ever powerplay score for Rajasthan in the history of the IPL. Each of the six bowlers put to test that day looked pale, thus forming a major concern for the Hyderabad-based team.
Talking about the Sunrisers' batting, the Orange Army couldn't even put up a fight as they didn't look to be in the game at no point of time. Thus, Sunrisers Hyderabad will have to carry out an overall makeover if they would want the results of the upcoming matches to go their way.
On Friday, April 7, Sunrisers will play their first away game of the season as Lucknow will return to their den after a short trip to Chennai. Both Lucknow and Hyderabad have faced each other only once in the IPL in a match that was taken home by Super Giants.
This time too, the KL Rahul-led side shall take the field as the favourites when the two teams face off in the 10th match of the ongoing IPL 2023. While SRH are languishing at the bottom of the IPL 2023 points table, LSG are placed fifth with one win in two games.

LSG vs SRH Pitch Report
Black soil is the most prominent feature in pitches of this stadium in Lucknow and is likely to aid the pacers by generating bounce and keeping them in the game. Spinners too can leave a mark as shown by Ravi Bishnoi in the previous game against Delhi.
Batters would need to stick to the basics and spend time in the middle before going for lofty hits. Sides batting first generally fare well in this venue, as we also saw in the previous encounter between Lucknow and Delhi.
While the last game saw Lucknow putting up a rather mammoth 193 on board, going by the records and the average, anything in the 170s should be a healthy total on this pitch. The side winning the toss should opt to bat first.
LSG vs SRH Probable Playing XIs
Lucknow Super Giants (LSG):
Quinton de Kock (wk), Kyle Mayers, KL Rahul (c), Deepak Hooda, Nicholas Pooran, Krunal Pandya, Krishnappa Gowtham, Avesh Khan, Mark Wood, Ravi Bishnoi, Yash Thakur
Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH):
Heinrich Klaasen (wk), Mayank Agarwal, Harry Brook, Rahul Tripathi, Abhishek Sharma, Aiden Markram (c), Washington Sundar, T Natarajan, Fazalhaq Farooqi, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Umran Malik
LSG vs SRH Probable Best Performers
Probable best batter
Kyle Mayers:
Lucknow's Kyle Mayers is likely to emerge at the top of the batting ranks as the Caribbean hard hitter is in red-hot form, having smashed two consecutive fifties in the first two matches of the tournament. Having done it in Lucknow before, he is expected to do it again when Lucknow lock horns with Hyderabad on Friday.
Probable best bowler
Mark Wood:
The Englishman has so far picked up eight wickets in two matches of the tournament and the last time he played in Lucknow, he managed to add a fifer to his name. There isn't much in the Sunrisers batting lineup to stop his juggernaut and Wood could thus be seen dismantling the SRH batting lineup on Friday.
