South Africa woman (SA-W) and New Zealand woman (NZ-W) lock horns in the second ODI of the three-match series at the City Oval in Pietermaritzburg, on Thursday, September 28.

Hosts South Africa woman followed up an impressive ODI series win in Pakistan with a commendable performance in the first game against the White Ferns on Sunday. After restricting New Zealand to 235/8, the home side sealed a gritty win with four wickets in hand and 17 balls to spare.

New Zealand woman got to their total on the back of half-centuries from Brooke Halliday and Hannah Rowe. Masabata Klaas was expensive but finished with a three-for, while Nadine de Klerk, who was the Player of the Series in Pakistan, impressed with figures of 2/34 in nine overs.

Proteas skipper Laura Wolvaardt scored a fighting half-century but her team needed another 125 runs when she was dismissed, with five wickets in hand. South Africa were in desperate need of a partnership and it was Nadine, who stepped up with the bat this time and stood in New Zealand's way. Chloe Tryon showcased her talent with a scintillating 71-run knock of 58 balls. She was dismissed when the scores were levelled before Nadine scored the winning run and finished unbeaten on 58 off 77 balls.
