Ashwin, Siraj, Bumrah and Suryakumar show support to PM Modi's campaign for first-time voters

The entire nation will celebrate the biggest festival of democracy as the General Elections are about to be held all over India in the coming months. Hence, the country is in a phase of rapid transformation where the voters will decide their future by electing the new government in the 18th Lok Sabha Elections. Ahead of the elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi issued a clarion call to encourage young voters to exercise their right to vote in the upcoming electoral process under the campaign ‘Mera Pehla Vote Desh Ke Liye’ and shape the future of India.

The honourable PM invited people from all walks of life to encourage first-time voters in their own style. Several cricketers namely Jasprit Bumrah, Suryakumar Yadav, Kuldeep Yadav, Mohammed Siraj and Ravichandran Ashwin came forward to show support for the campaign urging youngsters to vote.

Notably, Union Minister Anurag Thakur, who’s also a former BCCI president, launched the #MeraPehlaVoteDeshKeLiye Anthem on X which is an effort to contribute to the campaign launched by the Election Commission of India towards voter awareness.

During his address to the nation in his show ‘Mann ki Baat’, PM Modi said that the country is proud of its passionate youth power that is full of energy and the results of the election will be better for the country if more youth exercise their right to vote. He also urged various social media influencers from all walks of life to spread the message forward and encourage first-time voters.

To further spread the message to all corners of the nation, the Ministry of Education is set to organize a campaign in the higher educational institutes till March 6. Under this, voter awareness activities will be held in campuses all over India which will be aimed at educating the youth about the value of voting, making informed choices, and the pride of voting in the largest democracy in the world.

Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan also advocated the campaign asking youngsters to come forward and make their voices heard.
