Right-arm pacer Harshit Rana produced a career-best bowling spell of 4 for 39. He sealed his spell with a solid yorker that sent Josh Hazlewood’s off-stump cartwheeling. India’s batting stalwart Virat Kohli added another milestone to his career by becoming the second-highest run-scorer in ODIs. Kohli surpassed Sri Lanka’s Kumar Sangakkara to reach the feat and now trails only his idol, Sachin Tendulkar, who tops the list with 18,426 runs. Kohli has so far scored 14,235 runs in 305 ODIs at an average of nearly 58 and a strike rate of 93. He remains the only batter with a 50-plus average among the top ten ODI run-getters. The former India captain also holds the record for the most 50-plus scores in run chases (70), overtaking Tendulkar’s tally of 69.

Rohit Sharma ended the Australia ODI series on a high, registering his 33rd century in the format and his 50th international ton overall. The opener looked in sublime touch and continued his momentum. With this innings, the former Indian skipper also became only the second Indian, after Sachin Tendulkar, to score over 2,500 runs in ODIs against Australia. Additionally, he achieved another feat by completing 100 catches in ODIs, joining legends like Virat Kohli, Rahul Dravid, and Tendulkar in the elite list.
