“We are one of the best countries in the world when it comes to resources and facilities, and we continue to produce brilliant, and the current squad is no different," Morgan said.

The T20 World Cup 2024 will kick off on June 2 and will be co-hosted by the USA and the West Indies. As the various sides aim to give it their all to get their hands on the title, some extra pressure will be on the heads of England, being the defending champions of the T20 World Cup.

England defeated Pakistan in the 2022 final to clinch their second title and will be looking to replicate their performance in the West Indies and US this year.

The side will be coming into the event after a horrid showing in the ODI World Cup 2023 where England failed to make it beyond the group stage and bowed out after a string of subpar performances.

Ahead of the T20 World Cup, former England skipper Eoin Morgan came forward to talk about the weight of expectations on the side and how he expects a change in leadership if the side fails to perform in the upcoming event.

“It would be very close to the end of leadership; I don't think that is being harsh. Even when I was captain, the level of expectations on your shoulders, given the quality of players, both in the domestic game and in the changing room at your disposal, leads to that expectation,” Eoin Morgan told Sky Sports.

“We are one of the best countries in the world when it comes to resources and facilities, and we continue to produce brilliant, and the current squad is no different. Ultimately, your job is to get the best out of that team for the tournament, and I think that it is a balanced squad,” he added.

It is worth noting that England will begin their T20 World Cup campaign by taking on neighbouring Scotland. Both sides will lock horns at the Kensington Oval, Bridgetown, Barbados, on Tuesday, June 4.
