Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) chief Swati Maliwal urged the police to lodge an FIR over "lewd" comments being posted on social media against the daughters of MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli on January 11.

It came to the notice that certain social media handles were posting pictures of Ziva Dhoni and Vamika Kohli and added extremely obscene and offensive remarks. Taking to the micro-blogging site Twitter the DCW chief lashed out at the offenders and urged the police to take strict action against them.

“Some accounts are posting pictures of the daughters of two senior players of the country, Virat Kohli and (MS) Dhoni, on Twitter and making lewd comments. Disgusting comments about two-year-old and seven-year-old girls. If you don’t like a player, will you abuse his daughter? Issuing notice to police to register FIR," the tweet by the chief read.

It has been noticed earlier on multiple occasions as well that players have been subjected to vicious trolling due to their poor performance, to the extent of having their families and personal lives dragged into the social media.

MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli have been constantly targeted on social media. Both these star cricketers have time and again been subjected to some of the most unimaginable trolls and hate comments. Dhoni during his playing days was mercilessly trolled whenever he couldn't deliver as per the expectations. But he never responded to those comments and same has been the case with Virat.

Virat and his wife Anushka Sharma have been very protective of their daughter and have often asked the paparazzi to not click any pictures of her.

After the DCW chief posted the tweet netizens came forward to laud Swati Maliwal on her presence of mind and attentiveness. The police are yet to issue any statement on the same.
