With seven victories under their belt so far in the ongoing IPL 2023, Chennai Super Kings are on the verge of qualifying for the IPL playoffs. They can very well finish in the top two, in which the four-time champions will get two opportunities to qualify for the finals of the competition, which is slated to take place on May 28 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

Meanwhile, rumours suggest that this could very well be MS Dhoni’s last season in the cash-rich league, especially with him struggling with a knee injury. Speaking about his retirement, former India international Harbhajan Singh urged the cricketer not to hurt the feelings of the supporters and to keep playing in the IPL.

“MS Dhoni has stopped time. He still looks the same old Dhoni. He's hitting those big shots, taking those singles. Although he's not running at his full speed, he's hitting those sixes at ease and still looks dangerous with the bat. Don't hurt our feelings, MSD. You should continue playing,” Harbhajan Singh stated while talking to Star Sports.

MS Dhoni made several smart moves in the tournament: Mithali Raj

Meanwhile, analysing CSK’s performance so far in the season, former India skipper Mithali Raj lauded skipper MS Dhoni and stated that the 41-year-old made several smart moves to help Chennai win so many matches this season. The former cricketer also cited the example of Ajinkya Rahane, who created a massive impact for CSK in the ongoing season. Notably, the 34-year-old has scored 266 runs in 10 matches at a whopping strike rate of 171.61.

“There are a lot of noises when a player approaches the back end of his career. MS Dhoni shut the noise brilliantly and guided his team slowly in this season. He's helped CSK stay in the hunt for the top two spots so far. It's not just his captaincy but also the on-field strategies that he's made has helped CSK do well. He made several smart moves in the tournament. Rahane is a perfect example of how a player revives himself under a good captain,” Mithali added.
