Recently, India bowling all-rounder, Ravichandran Ashwin, took to his YouTube channel to express his bewilderment at the state of Pakistan cricket at present, while comparing it to how it was during the early 2010s.
Ravichandran Ashwin compared the current Pakistan team and the one with Misbah-ul-Haq and Younis Khan. he said it was challenging to beat Pakistan earlier.
"Keeping all this aside, Pakistan cricket, to see where it is right now, it wasn't possible 10 years ago with Misbah, Younis Khan, even when they used to play in the UAE. Back then, it was very tough to beat Pakistan, right?," stated Ashwin in a video posted on his YouTube channel.
To this, former Pakistani top-order batter, Ahmed Shehzad, responded sarcastically while taking a dig at the state of affairs in the country concerning its cricketing aspects being overseen by the Pakistan Cricket Board.
"Why are you surprised, Ashwin? Don't worry, everything is fine here. Can't you see that stadiums are being built over here? Continuous digging is being done. Don't be surprised at all," mentioned Shehzad, while speaking to the anchor of Geo News on their talk show.
Further delving into the status quo of the Pakistan Cricket Board, he mocked the governing body for expecting things to take a turn for the better by organizing tournaments such as the Champions One-Day Cup, which is scheduled to commence on September 12, 2024.
"Are you not seeing that Pakistan is organizing a cup? Just wait and watch the number of players who come out of this tournament. How we get a battery of fast bowlers and produce players! Are you not seeing this? Why are you surprised, Ravi?," mentioned Shehzad.
So what if there is groupism in our team?: Shehzad
Shehzad did not mince words while bluntly appraising the team's situation, as he further went on to satirically blast the PCB by highlighting all the issues entrenched within its system.
"So what if we couldn't qualify for the Super 8s of the 2024 T20 World Cup? So what if
there is groupism in our team? So what if the current players in the team are not performing? It's not a big issue, Ravi, so please don't worry," concluded Shehzad.

Pakistan would've hoped for a betterment in terms of their results after they were unexpectedly knocked out of the marquee event co-hosted in the USA and the West Indies. Instead, they piled further misery on themselves by going down to Bangladesh in a series where they were thoroughly beaten in every regard.
