Former Indian Test captain Rohit Sharma attended the fifth Test match at The Oval, wearing an Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Jumbo Extra-Thin Smoked Burgundy Titanium watch, valued at a whopping INR 2.46 crore (approximately). The veteran cricketer witnessed the third day’s play as India dominated England throughout.

Having recently retired from red-ball cricket, Rohit arrived at the ground a few minutes after the start of play on Saturday, August 2. He was dressed casually, donning a black denim jacket and jeans, and appeared relaxed as always. During the match, he also sent a message to Indian opener Yashasvi Jaiswal, who scored a century in the final Test of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy.

Indian opener Jaiswal revealed that he received a message from the veteran encouraging him to keep batting in the fifth Test. Jaiswal began day three with a strong partnership alongside nightwatcher Akash Deep, as the pair put on 107 runs for the third wicket. 

“I saw Rohit bhai and said hi to him. He just told me that I should keep batting,” said Jaiswal to Times of India.

“The wicket was a little spicy. I was enjoying batting. I was enjoying it a lot. I expect that in England, when you play, you play on a wicket like this. Mentally, I was ready and I was just enjoying it. I knew what shots I was going to play on this surface," he added.

Jaiswal also shared crucial partnerships with Karun Nair and Ravindra Jadeja, adding 40 and 44 runs respectively, helping India extend their lead to 250. The stylish left-handed batter scored his sixth Test century, playing a scintillating innings of 118 runs off 164 balls, including 14 fours and two sixes. Thanks to his efforts, India set a challenging target of 374 runs for England to chase in the final two days of the Test.

India ended Day 3 on a high note when Mohammed Siraj dismissed Zak Crawley with the second-last ball of the day, leaving England requiring 324 runs to win the match and claim the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy.
