Rajasthan Royals recently faced Punjab Kings in a thriller clash in the 27th game of the IPL (Indian Premier League) 2024. Royals managed to maintain their form and edge out a narrow victory in one of the most entertaining matches of the season so far.

One of the biggest highlights of the clash was quite a hilarious one. The incident occurred in the penultimate over of the first innings when a delivery by Avesh Khan was miscued towards mid-wicket. However, with no fielder in charge there, Samson ran to take the catch.

Similarly, Avesh Khan took charge as well and ran towards the ball to take the catch. However, both players did not manage to complete the catch, which resulted in a hilarious moment on the field, as the same has happened with Royals in previous seasons as well. Talking about the moment, Sanju Samson came forward to opine that he is happy that everyone on the field wants to take catches and that he would be very sad if no one stepped up.

"We had few funny instances from last year and this year. But I am really happy that everyone is eager to go and catch. I would be very sad if people are just staying away and not catching it," Samson said in the post-match presentation ceremony.

"It gets a bit tough actually - the stadium is full of noise and when people call, we are looking at the ball, we can't look who is coming. I need to tell my fast bowlers that it's a bit easier to catch with the gloves instead of hands," he added.
