Punjab Kings and Rajasthan Royals had a thriller of a clash against each other at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur on Saturday, April 13. Both sides locked horns in the 27th game of the tournament, and Rajasthan Royals managed to edge out a narrow victory.
One of the biggest highlights from the clash was the dismissal of Punjab Kings’ all-rounder Liam Livingstone. On the fifth ball of the 18th over in the first innings, Livingstone attempted to take a second run but in his attempt to come back, but it was the brilliant reflexes of RR keeper Sanju Samson that helped the visitors take the wicket.
Receiving the ball, Samson threw it towards the stumps with his back towards the wicket. In a similar fashion to that of the legendary MS Dhoni, Samson’s brilliant skill caught the eye of many all over social media, and the clip of Livingstone’s dismissal has been going viral all over X (formerly known as Twitter).

Shimron Hetmyer propels RR to fifth win
Speaking of the game, the clash between PBKS and RR began with the hosts batting first after losing the toss. The side got off to a subpar start as openers Atharva Taide and Jonny Bairstow were dismissed for 15 runs each. Prabhsimran Singh scored 10 runs, with skipper Sam Curran adding just six runs to the scoreboard.
Jitesh Sharma and Ashutosh Sharma added 29 and 31 runs, respectively, as Punjab posted a total of 147 runs in the first innings. As for Rajasthan Royals, Avesh Khan and Keshav Maharaj took two wickets each, with Trent Boult, Kuldeep Sen, and Yuzvendra Chahal striking once each.

Aiming to chase down the target, the visitors got off to a slow start, with openers Yashasvi Jaiswal and Tanush Kotian scoring 39 and 24 runs, respectively. Riyan Parag added 23 runs in 18 deliveries, with Shimron Hetmyer adding 27* runs to the board as Rajasthan Royals won the game by three wickets and managed to record their fifth win of the season.
