It is no secret that team India batter KL Rahul and Bollywood actor Athiya Shetty share a very close relationship and are known to be dating each other for quite some time now. Bollywood actor and father of Athiya Shetty, Suniel Shetty confirmed that their marriage is on the cards in the forthcoming year in 2023.

The couple made it official when the team India right-hander attended the screening of her brother Ahan Shetty's debut film- Tadap back in 2021. While all eyes are on the wedding, Suniel Shetty dropped a major hint on their marriage and stated that it will happen at 'the right time'.

“Hopefully soon, we will know when and where will it (wedding) happen. I guess at the right time, everyone will know (details about the wedding),” said Suniel Shetty to Hindustan Times.

Furthermore, both KL Rahul and Athiya are planning to ditch 5-star hotels and hold the ceremony at Suniel’s mansion, ‘Jahaan’, in Khandala, as per multiple reports. Adding to this, the families of both parties are looking to finalize the dates while considering the busy schedule of the player and the actor.

KL Rahul included in Bangladesh tour

Meanwhile, KL Rahul will return to the national side for the forthcoming tour of Bangladesh for the Test and ODI series. Rahul took a short break from the sport following the recently concluded ICC T20 World Cup 2022 held down under. He came under the scanner for not so great returns in the World Cup where India knocked out in the semi-final after losing to England by 10 wickets.

When it comes to the ODIs, Rahul is expected to bat in the middle-order with Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma set to open the innings. Interestingly, he was preferred as a wicketkeeper as well ahead of Rishabh Pant when last time India played with a full-strength side in the format. The first ODI between India and Bangladesh will be played on December 4 while the tour concludes on December 26.
