Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chief Ramiz Raja revealed the planning behind Indian skipper Rohit Sharma's dismissal in last year's T20 World Cup clash against Pakistan in a latest chat with BBC. The former cricketer had planned Rohit's dismissal with the Pakistani skipper Babar Azam involving fast bowling sensation Shaheen Afridi ahead of the epic clash.

The Men in Green got the monkey off their backs after defeating arch-rivals India for the first time in a World Cup clash in last year's ICC mega event. Babar Azam's side hammered India by ten wickets to register a comprehensive victory.

The win was set up by Shaheen Afridi's marauding opening spell, which had India in a spot of bother in the powerplay. Ramiz Raja revealed having a conversation with Babar Azam, suggesting the former to use Shaheen Afridi's lethal yorker against Rohit with a fielder close in on the leg side.

“Babar Azam was here with the Chief Selector before leaving for the World Cup, and I asked him what are your plans against India. I can tell you how to get rid of Rohit Sharma right now and Babar was intrigued. I said get Shaheen Afridi bowling at 100mph, get a man at short-leg. Just bowl that inswinging yorker at 100mph and do not give him a single and keep him on strike. You will get him out," Ramiz revealed on a BBC podcast.

Shaheen Afridi will be available for Pakistan's clash against India

Ramiz's plan worked wonders for the team as they not only got rid of Rohit but also his opening partner KL Rahul in Afridi's very next over. Although Virat Kohli steadied the ship for India, they failed to register a match-winning total in the blockbuster clash.

The arch-rivals will resume their rivalry in this year's edition as they will feature in another titanic battle at the iconic MCG on the 23rd of October. Shaheen Afridi, who missed his side's Asia Cup campaign last month, is fit and looking forward to facing India in a week's time.
