In the ongoing Deodhar Trophy, Mumbai all-rounder Shivam Dube has been a standout performer for West Zone, leaving cricket fans in awe of his exceptional skills. His recent match-winning knock against North Zone has once again brought to light the valuable advice he received from the cricketing legend, MS Dhoni, during the IPL 2023 season.

Dube's inning was nothing short of remarkable. Battling a challenging pitch, he displayed remarkable composure, scoring a sensational 83 runs off just 78 balls to lead West Zone to a successful chase of 260 runs. With the team struggling at 122 for 4, Dube joined forces with Kathan Patel to forge a vital 138-run partnership for the 5th wicket, steering his team to victory.

In an exclusive post-match interview with the BCCI, Dube credited his outstanding form and maturity to the wisdom he gained from none other than MS Dhoni during IPL 2023.

"I cannot express all the things... I have upgraded my game. I got to know how to finish the game, how to be in the situation, how to tackle the bowlers, that all things are more important and many things are there but cannot express all the things. But, I definitely got some big tips," said Dube.

Dhoni's advice to Dube was simple yet profound, "Play till the end and try to finish the game. You can win many matches from your batting, so keep believing in yourself."

These words seem to have worked like magic for the young all-rounder, as he showcased tremendous growth and composure in high-pressure situations.

Dube's brilliance was also evident during the IPL 2023 season as his ability to strike against spinners was particularly notable. With his selection in the Asian Games men's cricket squad, Dube has set new goals for himself.

"For me, the goal is to finish the game with bat and ball. What kind of job do I get for my team, and what situation do I get, I probably plan in that way. So that is more important and working physically and mentally both in that way," he shared, highlighting his determination to contribute significantly to his team's success.
