Shikhar Dhawan, who announced his retirement from international and domestic cricket on Saturday, August 24, said that he would want his son, Zoraver, to remember him as a good human being more than as a cricketer.

Dhawan was granted divorce by a local court in Delhi from his estranged wife, Aesha Mukerji, in October 2023 on account of the former being subjected to mental cruelty. Earlier this year, on Father's Day, Dhawan revealed that he had no contact with Zoraver, who is 11 years old.

In a recent interview, the Delhi batter was asked how he would want his son to remember his cricketing career. Dhawan replied by saying that he would want his son to remember him as someone who would do good deeds and spread positivity to people around him.

"Zoraver is 11 now. I hope he gets to know about my retirement and all about my cricket journey. But more than as a cricketer, I would like for Zoraver to remember me as a good human being who does good deeds and brings positivity to people around him," Dhawan told Hindustan Times in an interview.

Notably, Dhawan and Aesha tied the knot in 2012 and were blessed with a baby boy, Zoravar, in 2014. In his plea, the left-handed batter said Aesha initially vowed to stay with him in India. However, due to her commitment towards her daughters from her previous marriage requiring her to stay in Australia, she could not come to live in India. In one of his interviews, Dhawan yearned to spend quality time with his son and revealed that he hadn't had a word with him for five to six months.
