ICC delegation meets PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi after inspection for Champions Trophy

Pakistan will host the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 in February and March across three stadiums.

The International Cricket Coun­cil (ICC) delegation arrived in Pakistan to review the Champions Trophy preparations in the country on March 25. The team visited Mohsin Naqvi, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman on March 27, Wednesday.

The ICC delegation was led by Chris Tetley, ICC's Head of Events, accompanied by Sarah Edgar, Senior Manager of Event Operations at ICC, and Aun Zaidi, Manager of Event Operations. Apart from them, the meeting was also graced by PCB COO Salman Naseer and Director International Cricket PCB Usman Wahla along with other prominent PCB officials. During the meeting, they discussed the preparations and seamless execution of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.

Mohsin Naqvi expressed immense delight as Pakistan prepared to host a global cricket tournament. He further emphasised PCB's commitment to providing top-tier facilities during the tournament.

“Pakistan is set to host an ICC Tournament which is an absolute pleasure and a welcome development not just for the board but also for the fans across the country who are an important stakeholder in this sport. The PCB will arrange top-notch facilities as per the stature of this historic tournament," Naqvi said.

“I am delighted to announce that the PCB will upgrade the three major venues in the country well in time before the start of ICC Champions Trophy 2025. The PCB will leave no stone unturned in making this a very successful and memorable tournament," he added.

Notably, Pakistan will host the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 in February and March across three stadiums. This will be the first time since the attack on the Sri Lanka national cricket team in 2009 that Pakistan has served as the sole host of an ICC tournament. Notably, the last major tournament held in Pakistan was the 1996 Cricket World Cup, which it co-hosted with India and Sri Lanka.
