Team India will take on Australia in the third and final ODI at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Wednesday, March 22. India won the opening ODI by five wickets but faced a 10-wicket loss in the second ODI. Thus the three-match series is currently levelled at 1-1.

In the first ODI, the Steve Smith-led side was bundled out for 188 in 35.4 overs. Despite the top-order collapse, KL Rahul and Ravindra Jadeja guided India to score 191/5 with 61 balls to spare.

However, the Aussies made a terrific comeback in the second ODI, as Mitchell Starc took a five-wicket haul and bundled out the hosts for 117. In the chase, Australia openers Mitchell Marsh and Travis Head brutally thrashed the India bowlers and took the visitors across the line in just 11 overs.

It seems that the Australians will not make it easy for Rohit Sharma and Co. in the series decider in Chennai. The top order of the Indian side will have to bat out of its skins to stop Australia’s left-arm pacer Mitchell Starc.

Opener Rohit Sharma, who missed the first ODI, scored only 13 runs in the second ODI. Youngster Shubman Gill also did not produce an impressive performance in both matches. Meanwhile, team India’s major concern is the performance of Suryakumar Yadav as he was dismissed for a golden duck in both the ODIs.

Here’s the weather report for the third ODI between India and Australia

According to the Accuweather report, there is a 24 percent chance of a thunderstorm with one hour of rainfall during the daytime in Chennai on Wednesday. It is expected to have 22 percent of cloud cover and 88 percent humidity during the day. The temperature will be 32° Celsius during the day and fall to 27° Celsius at night.

The venue for the third ODI is considered a low-scoring ground and thus it will be an advantage for spinners. The average first innings total is 230 while the average second innings total is 210 at the ground.
