India captain Rohit Sharma was once again caught delivering one of his classic comments on Day 2 of the India vs England second Test in Visakhapatnam on Saturday, February 03. During the 26th over of the England innings, the India captain was hilariously seen consulting the on-field umpire Marais Erasmus on whether he should take a review or not.

The incident took place on the last ball of the over as Jasprit Bumrah hit Jonny Bairstow on his pads with a yorker on his very first delivery. The entire Indian team went up for appeal but the umpire Marais Erasmus didn’t raise his finger. Hence, the Indian skipper began consulting with the wicketkeeper KS Bharat and Bumrah about whether they should go for a review or not. While consulting with his players, he even hilariously asked the umpire saying “Marais, what do you think?.”

Coming back to the match, India added 60 runs to their overnight score of 336 as they finished their innings on 396. Opener Yashasvi Jaiswal completed his first double hundred in Tests and became the third youngest Indian to achieve the milestone at the age of 21. The southpaw played a scintillating innings of 209 (290) clobbering 19 fours and seven sixes.

Following Jaiswal’s blast with the bat, England found themselves on the receiving end of a reverse swing masterclass as Jasprit Bumrah ran through their batting order registering his best figures in India.

The speedster claimed figures of 6/45 in 15.5 overs getting the prized scalps of Joe Root (5 off 10), Ollie Pope (23 off 55), Jonny Bairstow (25 off 39), Ben Stokes (47 off 54), Tom Hartley (21 off 24) and James Anderson (6 off 19).

His delivery to Ollie Pope became the highlight of the day as he destroyed the stumps of last game’s Player of the Match with a searing in-swinging yorker. Courtesy of his sensational bowling display, England were bundled out for 253 with Zak Crawley top-scoring with 76 (78). Meanwhile, India finished Day on 28/0 with both openers at the crease leading England by 171 runs.
